Since time immemorial Traditional Chinese Medicine has developed as a very complex and holistically orientated medical system. The relationship between organic diseases, unspecified discomfort, the emotions and the mental attitude of a person are especially due to daoistic influences. Thus, the dynamic interactions affecting the energetic balance via climate, way of life, nutrition and mind are of particular interest.

During this seminar, we will discuss and define these topics so that they can easily be followed. You will learn how to interpret and understand the most important symptoms and emotions from the point of view of Chinese Medicine. You will be shown simple options to influence your own balance with nutrition, herbs, way of life and the application of acupressure.

Dr. Stefan Kirchhoff MD

For many years, Dr. Stefan Kirchhoff, was practicing in the pain treatment clinic of the Institute for Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care and Pain Treatment of the Wuppertal Hospital GmbH, belonging to the Hospitals of Witten/Herdecke University. In the year 2001 he founded his own doctor's clinic focussing on Chinese Medicine. Since 1993, he has been the Head of Department of Chinese Medicine at Witten/Herdecke University. He had started learning about and working with Chinese Medicine in 1980 and attended lectures of Claude Diolosa, Barbara Kirschbaum, Rhada Tambirajah and others. Study visits in the People's Republic of China, Hong Kong and Japan were part of his professional education. He is a highly respected lecturer for other institutions and co-author of several publications, among which are: the "Wandtafel Chinesische Diätetik" (chart on Chinese dietetics) published by "Verlag für Ganzheitliche Medizin Dr. Erich Wühr, Kötzting". Dr Kirchhoff is chairman of the German Scientific Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine (DWGTCM e.V.)

Dr. Andreas W. Koepp MD

After finishing his studies of medicine, Dr Koepp continued his professional education and became anaesthesiologist at the Rudolf-Virchow University Hospital in Berlin, the St.-Johannes Hospital in Dortmund and the Alfried-Krupp Hospital in Essen. He worked in the Department of Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care and Pain Treatment, concentrating on the latter. He completed a three-year education in Chinese Medicine at the "Deutsche Akupunktur Kolleg"., He has been a lecturer at the Department of Chinese Medicine at Witten/Herdecke University since the year 2000,and coordinator of their courses in Chinese Herbal Medicine since 2001. He established his own doctor's clinic focussing on Chinese Medicine in the year 2002 in Herne. Three year later he opened a second clinic in Essen, Germany.
